The Story of the Land Master that Taught a Lesson to a Nation 👌🧠🚜



On August 20, 1924, a very talented boy was born in an Asian country our own region. From a young age, this boy loved creating new inventions and doing experiments.


When he was young, he once wanted to experience what it felt like to use a parachute. So he jumped from the roof of his house holding an umbrella. He fell and got a good scolding from his father that day. 🚀⛱️🎈😄❤️‍🩹


 But that boy never gave up on experimenting. As he grew up, he noticed that the farmers in his country were suffering a lot while working in their fields. So he thought he should do something to help them. After many experiments, in 1955 he invented a two-wheel hand tractor.🦼🚜🧑‍🔬


He first went to the authorities in his own country and presented his idea.

POV: 🤵‍♂ “This is useless,” they said and rejected it.🚫👎

Then he went to manufacturers in his country.

POV: 🕵️‍♂ “There is no market for this,” they said and rejected it again.🚫👎


But he did not give up. He recorded a video of his invention and went to a factory in Nottingham, UK to present it.


POV: 👨‍🏫 “Wow! This is a brilliant idea. Let’s manufacture this for the whole world.”😍✅✅✅


After that, the two-wheel tractor was produced and distributed around the world especially to Asia, Latin America, and Africa. Interestingly, his main market later became Japan.


Even more surprising, by 1975 the same country that rejected his idea imported 11,000 units of the hand tractor from the factory in Nottingham.


The company that produced this two-wheel hand tractor was called "Land Master",and the young inventor was Philip Revatha Wijewardene (R. Wijewardene).



And the country he came from was none other than 

Sri Lanka. 👎❤️‍🩹🇱🇰
